Arab League summit: the reason for the Algerian president's refusal to participateBy: Charilogone Editorial & BBC
Tebboune refuses to participate in the emergency Arab summit because of the “monopoly of the resolution of the Palestinian question which is the responsibility of countries alone”.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has decided not to participate in the emergency Arab summit in Cairo due to the uniqueness of certain countries in the preparatory process linked to their results on the Palestinian issue, according to statements made by an official source to the Algerian press agency. Tebboune appointed Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf to represent Algeria at the summit.
Regarding the reasons for his absence, the official source indicated that "President Tebboune expressed his dissatisfaction with the method of action which is based on the inclusion of countries and the exclusion of others, as if support for the Palestinian cause had become today the exclusive prerogative of some", according to what the Algerian press agency reports.
