The Minister of State, Minister of Finance, Budget, Economy and Planning, Tahir Hamid Nguilin, representing the Head of State, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, who is participating in the African Energy Summit in Tanzania, signed the Dar es Salaam Declaration on Energy. This is a document that marks a collective commitment by African countries to accelerate the energy transition and promote universal access to sustainable energy on the continent. Shortly before, the day before, a national energy pact aimed at increasing the rate of access to electricity to 90% by 2055, compared to only 11% currently, had been presented by the representative of the Chadian head of state.
