UAE Reacts to Sudanese Case at International Court of Justice
    By: Charilogone Editorial Staff

The United Arab Emirates has responded to Sudan’s complaint filed with the International Court of Justice, accusing it of complicity in genocide. The Emirates called the complaint a “malicious propaganda ploy” and said it would seek to have it invalidated.

The Sudanese complaint accuses the UAE of supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have been in conflict with the Sudanese military for two years. According to an Emirati official, the Sudanese allegations are aimed at diverting attention from the atrocities committed by the Sudanese armed forces.

Since April 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in a devastating conflict between the RSF and the military, which has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced more than 12 million, creating a major humanitarian crisis.

The United Arab Emirates has denied any support for the RSF, saying it is working to alleviate the impact of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan and will immediately reject the baseless complaint before the International Court of Justice.
