  • Meeting in Kigali: Charilogone Media Received by the Ethiopian Ambassador

    By: Charilogone Editorial Team

On the morning of August 8, 2025, in Kigali, an official audience was granted to Mr. Alfred Camus Djasnan, CEO of Charilogone Media International & Magazine Charilogone, accompanied by his assistant Mr. Kanyana Kabale, by His Excellency Mesfin Gebremariam Shawo, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Rwanda. The meeting, held around 11:00 AM, took place in a warm and respectful atmosphere.

This courtesy visit served to present Charilogone Media’s future projects, particularly its commitment to highlighting Ethiopia’s initiatives in sustainable development, governance, and environmental protection. The ambassador praised the strategic role of Pan-African media in promoting an authentic and dynamic image of Africa.

He emphasized Ethiopia’s ambitious Green Legacy Campaign, launched in 2019 under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), which has consistently exceeded its annual tree-planting goals. To date, over 40 billion seedlings have been planted nationwide. This initiative has increased forest coverage from 17.2% in 2019 to 23.6% in 2024, with a target of 30% by 2030. By 2025, Ethiopia aims to plant an additional 7.5 billion trees, reaching 54 billion by 2026. This large-scale effort not only combats climate change but also promotes sustainable development and ecological resilience.

The ambassador also highlighted Ethiopia’s agricultural progress, which now enables the country to export wheat to nations facing food insecurity — a testament to its strengthened agricultural capacity.

His Excellency reaffirmed his institution’s openness to collaborate with Charilogone Media on impactful communication initiatives that support the development of Ethiopia and the African continent as a whole.

For his part, Mr. Djasnan underscored the pan-African mission of Charilogone Media, which advocates for free, responsible communication that respects the principles of independence, sovereignty, and dignity. He reiterated his commitment to supporting African nations that assert their autonomy and strive to build a sustainable future.

This meeting marks a significant step toward strengthened media cooperation between Charilogone Media and the Ethiopian Embassy in Rwanda, reflecting a shared vision of a strong, united, and forward-looking Africa.
