Birth of the Platform for National Unity: A Call for Peace and Cohesion in ChadBy: Charilogone Editorial Staff
On May 19, 2025, Chadian figures from diverse backgrounds gathered in N'Djamena to analyze the country's troubling sociopolitical climate and consider collective action for peace.
Faced with rising hate speech, identity divisions, and intercommunal violence, it became urgent to create a space for monitoring, dialogue, and concrete proposals. Thus, the Platform "For National Unity" was born, a framework bringing together media executives, women's organizations, opinion leaders, members of civil society, and parliamentarians, with a single ambition: to unite Chadians around the values of peace, justice, and national cohesion.
A Responsibility Assumed with Determination
The platform appointed a National Coordinator, who affirmed that she would assume this responsibility with determination and commitment, in the exclusive interest of the country.
A solemn appeal to the press and national public opinion
On May 20, a solemn appeal was issued to the press and national public opinion. This message is both a warning and a message of hope: peace is still possible, provided that everyone—young people, authorities, political leaders, and the media—plays their part responsibly and with clarity.
The platform affirms its conviction that Chad deserves better, and that this future will be achieved through unity, social justice, and the rejection of hatred in all its forms.
