Sudan: Sudanese army bombs civilians at Tura market in North Darfur

Press release: The official spokesperson for the Rapid Support Forces
"In line with the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing, military aircraft of the Islamic terrorist movement ISIS committed a new massacre Monday evening by bombing the market in the Tura region of North Darfur State, killing and wounding hundreds of people, including women and children, in horrific, barbaric scenes.

Dropping barrel bombs on the heads of defenseless civilians is consistent with the policy of systematic targeting and genocide, which has been the dominant characteristic of the Berber Islamic movement, in flagrant disregard of the principles of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions relating to the protection of civilians in conflict zones.

The atrocities committed by the hijacking of military aircraft against innocent and defenseless people add to the series of crimes committed by the Islamic Movement terrorist gang against the Sudanese people for over thirty years. Today's bombings against civilians in the Tora region are a continuation of the crimes of genocide and forced displacement.

While we condemn this terrorist attack against innocent and defenseless people, we denounce the silence of the international community in the face of the escalation of massacres committed by the new Islamic State brigades against the Sudanese people.

The massacres committed against the Sudanese people double the responsibility of our forces to advance in a single path, which is to eradicate the source of the malignant disease, dismantle the hateful system of racist genocide, and build Sudan on new, just foundations that eliminate the injustice and marginalization of all Sudanese peoples."
