  • The Gold Question in Chad: Between Chaotic Management and Predation

On December 19, 2025, Minister Alixe Naïmbaye, with no proven competence in either the oil sector or gold mining, will have to answer oral questions before the elected representatives. It is a republican tradition to defend the government’s general policy before the National Assembly.

The profile of this minister resembles a pale copy of her counterpart in Territorial Planning, Assileck Halata, a hotelier by trade – not to say a cook – who finds himself in charge of planning our towns and lands. With Ousmane Djougourou of the AILC always at her heels, we await the continuation of the mistakes already committed during the construction of the Walia dike.

Long live “the man or woman who should not be in the place that requires them”!

Alixe Naïmbaye will never be able to tell us how much the Chadian Treasury has actually received in revenues since she took over her ministry, whether from the oil of Doba, Koudaloua, or the Lake. All these resources are exploited, but their revenues are shared between the Minister of Finance, the Zakawa generals and “Certain Goranes – Zakawa,” as well as the Marshal.

Regarding gold, she will surely mention Miski, but will remain silent on the exploitations of Mayo-Kebbi (Pala, Léré, Goré) and Guéra, seized by the “Certain Goranes – Zakawa” couple, true hostage-takers of Chadian mineral resources.

Madame Minister will also dodge the presence of unregistered Chinese companies, which pay no taxes to the Treasury, preferring instead to distribute suitcases of dollars in complicity with the Minister of Finance. These companies change their names every year to escape the tax authorities, while benefiting from the expertise of ministry tax specialists who secretly enrich themselves, leaving local populations powerless in the face of the looting of their wealth.

The Chinese in Chad, by regularly changing the identity of their companies, take advantage of tax breaks reserved for new businesses. They appear even more mafioso than the “Certain Goranes – Zakawa” couple.

Our minister, despite her natural assets, will end up tying herself in knots without convincing anyone. Accusations of embezzlement will not be lacking, and Ousmane Djougourou, once again, could precipitate her fall into prison.

Meanwhile, Gaya-Plé Seid awaits his share of the gold exploited in Guéra, distributed among the predatory Zakawa and certain Hadjaraï generals, the most famous of whom, Adiker Dokoni, has profited for ten years without ever protesting, comfortably seated at the Olympic Committee.

Madame Minister Alixe, please, read Gaya-Plé Seid’s article on Charilogone: there you will learn the truth about Guéra’s gold. We, poor Chadians, all await our share of this mineral wealth, which is said to be discussed on the sofas of salons.

    Thanks to Gaya-Plé Seid.
