Threats Against Daïpah Oualoumi and Chadian Activists: An Human Rights Alert

    By: Charilogone Editorial Team

Since the arrest of Dr. Succès Masra, founder of the political party Les Transformateurs, targeted threats against Chadian opposition activists have escalated. Among the most exposed is Daïpah Oualoumi, a law student, writer, and human rights activist, currently seeking asylum in Cameroon.

These threats intensified after several activists shared information denouncing irregularities in the Chadian judicial system regarding the Masra case. Supporters of the Parti Socialiste sans Frontières (PSF), founded by the late Yaya Dillo, as well as representatives of the Muta party, have been particularly targeted.

Daïpah Oualoumi, a bold and outspoken figure, was assaulted and now receives explicit threats on social media: “If you return to Chad, it’s the end for you” “Even in Cameroon, you’re not far”

Such statements clearly reflect a deliberate attempt to intimidate and silence dissenting voices. Evidence of these threats has been submitted to our editorial team at Charilogone Media International, a pan-African outlet committed to defending fundamental freedoms. This evidence reveals a climate of fear and insecurity for political refugees who continue to face pressure even outside Chadian borders.

We call on Cameroonian authorities to ensure the immediate safety of Daïpah Oualoumi and other threatened activists. We also urge international bodies — including the United Nations, the African Union, and human rights organizations — to intervene swiftly, investigate, and guarantee effective protection. Finally, we invite civil society and the media to widely share this alert to break the silence and increase pressure on the relevant authorities.

Protecting Daïpah Oualoumi and Chadian activists in exile is a collective responsibility. Their commitment to justice and truth must not become a sentence. It is urgent to act so that human rights are not sacrificed on the altar of political repression.
