Sudan: the expected “peace government” is a glimmer of hope for the people
By: Correspondence - Charilogone Editorial TeamSudanese politicians and activists on Tuesday expressed hope that the signing of the political charter to form Sudan's government would result in the birth of a legitimate representative of the Sudanese people who would play an effective role in ending the war and stopping the bloodshed.
Yesterday, the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, witnessed the holding of a conference to form the new government in the areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces, which was attended by political and civil actors, including the United Civil Forces Alliance, the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, the United Federal Party, the National Umma Party, the Federal Party and the Revolutionary Front, in addition to other civil and societal entities.
Leader of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, Abdulaziz Adam Al-Hilu, said the aim of this event is to form a broad civil front to push for democratic transformation and lasting peace.
During his speech at the preliminary ceremony for the signing of the government of peace and unity, he called on the Sudanese to support this new project of confrontation with the authority of the army in Port Sudan.
Al-Helu stressed that this event represents an essential step towards the end of wars and hatred, and towards the conclusion of a new social contract which will constitute the constitutional foundation of the country's government.
For his part, Nasr al-Din Ahmed Idris, secretary of administration and organization of the United Civil Forces Alliance, made a statement to "Erm News" that "the next political charter will pave the way for the establishment of a civil government that works on the foundations of justice and equality and the realization of great values and principles that will bring the country out of the state of isolation and societal disintegration caused by the old regime."
Idris added: “The future government will include all components of the Sudanese people, regardless of their components, regions and cultural and societal origins,” expecting representatives of the diplomatic corps to attend the signing ceremony.
He stressed that "the signing of the political charter of the peace government will take place with the broad participation of representatives of the different states of Sudan."
The signing ceremony of the "founding political charter" was scheduled to take place today, Tuesday, in the Kenyan capital, in preparation for the formation of a civilian government, but the signing was postponed until Friday.
For his part, the leader of the Revolutionary Front, Al-Hadi Idris, said that the political charter emphasized the importance of ending the war, the unity of the country and the reasons for forming a government. He also declared that Sudan is a democratic state.
He added that the charter will be open for signature by all parties, noting that the new government will have Khartoum as its capital, with other options if this is not possible.
For his part, Imran Suleiman, advisor to the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, said that the formation of the peace government is a dream for the different components of the Sudanese people.
In his message on the “X” platform, he confirmed the remarkable participation in the conference, which will see the signing of the next political charter of the new Sudanese government.
He stressed that one of the most important goals of the new government is to preserve the unity of the country and the Sudanese people, free them from separatist “war merchants” and erase them from the national memory.
The announcement of the formation of the Sudanese peace government was welcomed by a wide range of Sudanese activists, with Sudanese activist Ali Al-Kanari expressing his thanks to Kenya for hosting the conference, which will see the birth of a new government that will end violations committed by the Sudanese army, led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, against Sudanese civilians.
Al-Kanari said in his article on the "X" platform: "Thank you, Kenyan government, for giving the Sudanese the opportunity to make new history...Thank you to all friendly, loving and supportive African countries for stopping the war and bringing peace..."
Meanwhile, the head of the Sudanese civil committees in East Darfur, Al-Nur Rabbo, said in a message on "X": "The signing of the charter and the announcement of the peace government represent a decisive step to end the massacres and violations committed by the extremist Sudanese army against the defenseless Sudanese people over the past decades until today. »
He stressed that "the future holds for us the construction of a Sudan free from ethnic and regional discrimination."
Next Friday, the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, is expected to witness the signing of the political charter to form Sudan's peace government, with broad participation from political and societal entities, after the signing of the charter was postponed on Tuesday.
